Red and Pink Tatted Hanky Kit
This kit has a base of a delicate 100% cotton print (from Japan!) with tiny red-and-pink flowers on an ecru background. The ecru-colored scalloped lace can be topstitched to peek out underneath the vintage hanky corner with variegated red-and-pink tatting. A 4" x 6" cut of red Kona cotton is included in case you'd like to make a fabric frame (see Technique 4 in the book). The kit includes a variegated red-to-black ribbon for the edge, a hand-crocheted flower, and a tiny gold-colored butterfly for embellishment. See Technique #5 in the book for tips on making quilted postcards from vintage hankies. This quilted postcard would make a lovely Birthday or Thank-You card for someone special.
