Blueberries & Green Crochet Hanky Kit
This kit has a base of a delicate print with tiny blue flowers and berries and green leaves on a black background. The white scalloped lace can be topstitched to peek out underneath the vintage hanky corner with variegated green crochet. A 4" x 6" cut of periwinkle cotton is included in case you'd like to make a fabric frame (see Technique 4 in the book). The kit includes a hand-dyed green-to-purple ribbon for the edge (I think it is prettier to stitch it on without ironing out the natural puckering which shows off the color changes). A small lavender embroidered (iron on) butterfly applique is also included. See Technique #5 in the book for tips on making quilted postcards from vintage hankies. This quilted postcard would make a lovely Birthday or Thank-You card for someone special.
