Victorian - Delicate Flowers Hanky Kit

This kit has a base of a lovely Victorian print with flowers on a green background. The delicate batiste hanky has machine embroidered flowers and simulated French knots. Because you will probably want to trim away the wide margin on the corner of this hanky, a loose piece of machine-made tatting is included--you might want to create a new edge for the hanky corner by basting the hanky to the quilted postcard background where you'd like the new edge to be, trimming away the wide margin, and then machine stitching the tatted edging over the raw edge, or just satin-stitching the edge. There is enough of the hand-dyed mauve-and-green ribbon to trim the outside edge of the postcard, and if you wish, the edge of the hanky corner. A small purple fusible machine-embroidered butterfly applique is also included. See Technique #5 in the book for tips on making quilted postcards from vintage hankies. This quilted postcard would make a lovely Birthday or Thank-You card for someone special.
