The background fabric with green ferns provides a lovely contrast for the two hankies, one with variegated brown tatting, and the other with hemstitching and raised embroidery of a beautiful butterfly, and flowers. Hemstitching along the scalloped border as well. Embellishments include a ¼” wide brown gingham ribbon, and a hand-painted enamel ladybug button. See Technique #5 in the book for tips on making quilted postcards from vintage hankies. This quilted postcard would make a lovely Birthday or Thank-You card for someone special.
